SPEAKER
Margret Amatayakul, MBA, RHIA, CHPS, CPHIT, CPEHR, FHIMSS is president of Margret A Consulting, LLC, as well as co-founder and member of the board of examiners of Health IT Certification, LLC.
- Margret "A" provides consulting services to hospitals, clinics, payers, health information exchange organizations, and federal advisory committees to help achieve clinical transformation through adoption of health information technology (HIT).
- She publishes and speaks extensively on electronic health records (EHRs), the legal health record, personal health records (PHRs), and HIPAA/HITECH.
- Prior to starting her consulting business in 1999, Margret helped found and was the executive director of the Computer-based Patient Record Institute (CPRI) that grew out of the Institute of Medicine’s (IOM) first study on improving patient records in light of new technology.
- She has also served as member of the board of directors of the Health Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS); associate executive director of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA); associate professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago; and director of health information management services at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary.
- Margret is currently also adjunct faculty at the College of St. Scholastica in the health informatics masters program.
